COVID-19
Our response to COVID-19
Collaboration with PITA and Ministry of Health in Gaza
As the world responds to the COVID-19 pandemic, there has never been a more important time for IT companies, Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and telecom operators to make sure their networks are available and customers are able to stay connected. The ICT sector is delivering an essential service in every single country by enabling people to:
- Work from home
- Help our children attend school online
- Stay connected to colleagues, friends and family
- Get important news, entertainment and other information
Sci-Napse is honoured to partner with the Palestinian Information Technology Association (PITA) in helping its members to rise to this challenge and to keep them working in Gaza, both in the interests of the economy and society as a whole.
Sci-Napse was proud to make a donation through Gift of the Givers to produce and distribute these hygiene kits in Gaza. 450 kits were procured in total, each one including gloves, face masks, hand sanitiser, disinfectant and laundry gel.
The kits were then distributed partly through PITA into the ICT sector, and the balance to a hospital and child-care centre in cooperation with the Ministry of Health in Gaza.
Through the provision of these hygiene kits to entrepreneurs and businesses in the ICT sector, we aimed to make a contribution towards them being able to safely continue their operations.
Longer-term response to COVID-19 will create new ICT sector opportunities
